Yes, even with the year we have had we need to be positive as well as spread some happiness. Mo Gawdat the former chief business officer from Google X said there are studies that happy people are 12% more productive, so who would not want that for themselves and the company they work for? Also, a happy environment leads to innovation and higher performance.
Throughout the year I have heard of companies thinking out of the box, changing the ways they work and being more agile, this is all part of coming together to ensure the company survives. There can be been major cost savings when using technology and working clever, yes initially it may be a large investment. Creating an environment when people feel their opinion matters encourages them to be innovative. Knowing they can make a difference helps to increase happiness in the workplace as well as the need to work harder.
Sometimes business owners and managers forget that their biggest asset are their people, and they need to focus on them as well as clients, products etc. So, take time to look after your biggest asset and spread some happiness.
