You have made the decision that there are going to be changes. You now have a communication plan, spoken to the managers and ensure they have had training to undertake the task. You are ready to start the process and make the announcement, then the consultation process starts.
Again, do not approach it as if you are ripping off a plaster. Take your time, remember all your team are different, some may want to talk, some may not want to, but you need to ensure they all have the same opportunity. Take your time, if a question comes up that you feel everyone would benefit from, then circulate the answers, build a FAQ’s sheet so that your employees have time to digest the information. Take notes in the meeting and send them via email to the employees.
