You have made the offer to the employee, they have accepted and given their notice. A start date has been confirmed, you undertake the references and any other checks required. As an employer you are planning their first week, desks etc. To help the onboarding process it would be good to communicate with the employee in their notice period. You could arrange for a call with you or the team. Let them know what their first week will look like, where they should park, what to wear and what time to arrive. Engaging with your new employee and letting them know what is planned for them is sending a clear message about the type of company they are joining.
Arrange to meet with them at the end of the first day and some other points during the week. They can explain how they feel the training is going and if they have any further requirements.
