You need to follow the next steps
- Take yourself away to a quiet place and read the document on your own.
- Make notes of any questions you would like to ask the person who undertook the investigation.
- Then YOU make your decision on the next steps, not HR or another person, YOU.
It is your decision and you need to know that this is the right decision. To ensure you know you have made the right decision, think through the following
- What happened if it was someone else?
- How would you have felt on the receiving end?
- What is the bigger impact if this was moved to disciplinary or if not?
- Has this happened before in the company or with this person, what happened before?
This process must not be rushed but you need to be mindful of person or persons being investigated and not let it drag and the impact within the company.
