What do you with the information you gather in your one to one meetings?

An employee gives you feedback on their job, they are bored, and so what do you do with it?  You need to ask them to explain what is boring, ask them on ideas to improve, this is a two way communication and should work together to improve the work.  As mentioned in my previous blog Bored to tears at work  we all have to do boring work, but there are ways to approach them.

 

As a manager you need to listen to your employees and discuss it with your peers to see if this a common problem, come together as a team to solve it.  You cannot just write it down in your book and hope it goes away.  The employee may have struggled to tell you and it is your duty to help them, they have put their trust in you.

At your next one to one ensure it is on the agenda to be discussed and not brushed under the carpet.  You don’t want to lose your employee when you could have done something about it.
