Induction is the process of settling in a new employee and getting them to a peak of productivity as soon as possible. But why make a fuss about it? Well, taking on a new employee is a big step for most companies. Even if your company is not that small any more, salaries are still likely to be the biggest cost, and any new person is a significant investment, the longer it takes them to reach their peak the more cost it is to your company. So it is important that the new hire is successful for the business as quickly as possible.
An induction is what you do to introduce that person to the company and get them to a point of being productive and happy as soon as possible. Getting this right is important. First impressions count both ways and if your wonderful new employee has a nightmarish first few days then it will be difficult to motivate them to be a great employee and it is possible they will just up and leave.
So before the person starts you need to create an induction plan. If you need more any help with this please contact us on info@HRBusCons.co.uk.
